Sennen Cove to Land’s End on 35mm Film | South West Coast Path Walk

Rugged Cornish Coastaline and Atlantic Ocean

Spending a few days in Sennen Cove gave us the perfect excuse to explore one of the most iconic stretches of the South West Coast Path — the walk from Sennen Cove to Land’s End.

This dramatic section of the Cornish coastline offers rugged cliffs, sweeping Atlantic views, and some of the most photogenic scenery in the UK. Rather than turning the trip into a dedicated photography outing, I chose to slow things down and shoot primarily on 35mm film. The focus was on family time, fresh sea air, and simply being present.

Shooting film felt perfectly suited to the landscape. With limited exposures and no instant review screen, each frame required thought. The result was a small but meaningful set of images that capture the atmosphere of Cornwall’s far west coastline.

Walking the South West Coast Path: Sennen Cove to Land’s End

This stretch of the South West Coast Path is relatively short but incredibly rewarding. The route follows well-defined cliff-top paths, with steady inclines and spectacular coastal views throughout.

Highlights include:

• Panoramic Atlantic Ocean views

• Rugged granite cliffs unique to West Cornwall

• Secluded coves and dramatic seascapes

• Iconic views approaching Land’s End

The walk can be enjoyed at your only pace and is suitable for families, though I would recommend sturdy footwear due to uneven terrain.

Photography Equipment Used

For those interested in film photography, this was the simple kit I carried:

Olympus OM-10 – Lightweight and reliable 35mm SLR

Olympus 50mm f/1.8 – A classic focal length for landscapes and candid family moments

Kodak ColorPlus 200 – Affordable colour film with warm, nostalgic tones

Peak Design 25L Outdoor Backpack – Practical and comfortable for hikes

Keeping the setup minimal meant I could focus on the walk rather than constantly changing lenses or settings.
